Overview
The School of Education’s undergraduate/post-baccalaureate programs are to prepare individuals to teach. The Studies in Education major is an alternative option for students who do not complete the university's student teaching requirement, or pass the required testing to get into the School of Education. If that student has been admitted to teacher education and met all other University graduation requirements and wishes this option, the student must meet with the Director of Teacher Education and discuss the possibilities.
Alums with the Studies in Education degree may choose to apply their degree to jobs like substitute teaching, working in a childcare center, direct summer programs for children, etc.
