Earning your mathematics degree at Trevecca allows you to tailor your degree to best fit your interests, calling and goals. With two concentrations to choose from—pure mathematics and applied mathematics—and a wide range of courses, your degree will be unique to you.

Our small class sizes ensure that you’ll receive thorough attention, advising and instruction from professors who not only hold the highest degrees in their field, but who will also work with you one-on-one on different projects, mentorships and research.

Trevecca’s mathematics program has a strong emphasis on research and our program allows students to apply what they have learned to their own research projects. Each one of our students present their research at Trevecca’s Research Symposium, and many of the students from this program have gone on to win awards for their undergraduate research. At Trevecca, we encourage our mathematics students to participate in the national and international math community.

Our students have opportunities to apply for internships, conferences and research projects around the world. Many of our students have attended the NSF Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) and the Joint Mathematics Meeting, the largest annual mathematics conference in the world, held in cities such as San Diego and Boston.

Our graduates are well-prepared for a growing job market. With STEM jobs projected to grow by 9 million between now and 2024, Trevecca mathematics graduates face a bright future. Our graduates have earned or are completing Ph.D. and master’s programs in finance, business, mathematics, probability, actuarial studies, physics, law and education. Every Trevecca student who has chosen to further their degree by studying graduate mathematics has received scholarships in the form of full tuition and stipends. Trevecca math education majors have a 100% pass rate on the Math Praxis, a test that is required for teaching licensure in Tennessee.

If you’re looking for a mathematics program that will allow you to grow and learn in an environment that challenges you to grow, while also supporting your beliefs, and offers you the chance to take your research and future even farther, Trevecca’s mathematics program might be right for you.

Concentrations in the major

What our students and faculty say

"I feel like Trevecca is a very beneficial school academically because of the smaller class sizes and professors who are very involved in the educational process. This enables more hands on educational experience that allows for deeper individual learning outside of the classroom. I believe that I would not have gotten the same quality of education at another school without these things."

"It is an honor for me to be connected with many wonderful colleagues and students during my years at Trevecca. My minor in chemistry under a favorite Trevecca professor helped me develop a keen interest in science and math."
