Steven Hoskins, a native of Sumter, SC, teaches Church History and New Testament Greek. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Alpha Theta national honor fraternities, the Wesleyan Theological Society, and the American Academy of Religion. At MTSU he was the first James K. Huhta Fellow in Public History at The Center for Historic Preservation and a University Fellow and won the Bart McCash Prize for Excellence in History. His articles have appeared in the Journal of the Wesleyan Theological Society, The Tennessee Encyclopedia of History and Culture, Gottesdienst, and others publications. He works with state and local museums and was the lead consultant during the creation of the Green-McAdoo Civil Rights Museum in Clinton, TN. In 2007 he authored the Trevecca part of the Historic Campus Architecture Project for the Council of Independent Colleges and Universities. He is the director of the American Association for State and Local History’s Management for History Professionals Program. He and his wife, Stephanie, a public school principal, have a daughter, Allison.
