Overview
The creative writing minor at Trevecca Nazarene University offers five writing workshops in three different modes: poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Each workshop provides a supportive, vigorous environment in which original student work is shared and critiqued. Yearly opportunities include the annual creative writing contest and the Visiting Writers/Scholars series, which recently brought nationally recognized poet Mark Jarman and noted C. S. Lewis scholar Louis Markos to campus. Interested students have the opportunity to serve on the editorial staff of The Cumberland River Review, Trevecca's national literary journal.
Recent Trevecca creative writing graduates have already begun publishing their work, in such journals as Boxcar Poetry Review, Deep South Magazine, The MacGuffin, and Tar River Poetry. We look forward to talking with you about creative writing at Trevecca.
