Trevecca Begins Construction on Seven-story Residence Hall as Campus Development Continues

Another sign of growth is prominent on the campus of Trevecca Nazarene University this fall, as ground has been broken for the construction of a new residence hall that will become the tallest building on school grounds.

On Friday, November 5, Trevecca officials and community leaders celebrated the beginning of the building project that will result in a seven-story facility for student living. The new residence hall, scheduled to be completed by mid-2023, will be positioned at the south gateway of Trevecca’s Nashville campus at 333 Murfreesboro Pike, and will house more than 300 students.

“We’re thankful for the support and resources from the Trevecca community that allow us to address the need for more student residence space as we’ve grown ,” said Trevecca President Dr. Dan Boone.

Provost Dr. Tom Middendorf added, “This is a special day because we’re adding a new home away from home for generations of students, and the structure that will be built on these grounds will be life changing for many of them. As I experienced myself as a student and resident director, there are unique opportunities for ministry in a place like this.“

The split-level building will be visible from the downtown area, and will offer a rooftop terrace with a view of the Nashville skyline. Other features will include a café and marketplace; apartment-style rooms with full kitchens and lounges; a fitness room and fitness studio; gaming and multipurpose rooms; a central laundry; and an outdoor courtyard.

In addition to the residence hall construction, two other major projects are in progress on Trevecca’s grounds to accommodate continued growth. A new health sciences wing is being added to the building that’s home to the college’s new School of STEM, and the Jernigan Student Center in the middle of campus is undergoing a complete interior renovation. Both of those projects are on track for completion in late spring 2022. Renderings for all three development projects can be viewed at info.trevecca.edu/en/a-season-of-growth.
