J.V. Morsch Center for Social Justice to host teen summit
Trevecca’s J.V. Morsch Center for Social Justice will host the Youth About Change Teen Summit on Monday, Jan. 16. A partnership with the A.R.T. Project, the event is designed for African American teens in grades 8-12 and will challenge them to change their communities in positive ways. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Trevecca Community Church, 335 Murfreesboro Road, Nashville, TN, 37210.
According to Iris Gordon, adjunct professor in Trevecca’s social justice programs, the event is designed to connect like-minded teens and help to educate, equip and empower them to be agents of change within their own communities.
“The day will be filled with learning, entertainment, building long-term relationships and most importantly, fun!” Gordon said, adding that participants will have an opportunity to show off their talents at the Youth About Change Teen Summit Talent Showcase that will close out the event.
